Big, well-arranged Display
The MB500 is equipped with a multiline LCD display. The functions of the equipment are transparent, easy to program and to control. The figures in the display can be set with the flip button to show them upside down thus allowing to read them properly when the equipment hangs down from a ceiling system.
Bidirectional Remote Control
The M500 is equipped with a bidirectional remote control module. This module works together with the Priolite remote control module which is plugged-in to the hot-shoe of the camera. Almost all functions of the flash light can be done via remote control. The display on the remote control indicates the capacity of the equipment and its flash readiness. Through the organization of 4 teams and 9 equipments each, a total of 36 equipments can individually be controlled. The system works in the frequency range of 2.4 GHz and therefore is authorized worldwide for such applications.
Compatible Accessories
The Priolite adapter system is compatible with Bowens S-type bayonet. Also many Hensel reflectors can be fixed with the clamp-type mechanism.
Scope of Delivery
The M500 is delivered with a 1,5 m long sync cable, a 3,5 mm jack plug, mains cable, flash tube, modelling light and glass bell.
Made in Germany
The M500 was designed, developed and manufactured in Germany and has a very stringent quality control. Priolite has a 2 year warranty with the exception of the flash tube and modelling light.

The modelling light is comprised of an innovative LED array which gives an equivalent light capacity of approx. 100 Watt. LED's have an almost unlimited life expectancy and can be dimmed causing no changes to the color temperature. The LED array is equipped with a cooling device which allows long working hours without overheating. Additionally there is also a cooling fan which automatically switches on when the temperature is too hot - it cools the entire equipment. This furthermore guarantees a long, uninterruptible operation time.
Robust housing, safe Protection
The basic housing of the M500 consits of a continuous casting profile. It keeps all components safely thus making it an extremely robust system. A hole in the housing allows the fixation of flash umbrellas. The umbrellas are clamped via a protective screw thus making sure that the umbrellas do not get damaged. Umbrellas up to 10 mm diameter can be fixed.
The standard equipment also has a glass bell with different coatings. This gives an excellent protection and allows the adaptation of the color temperature.
The main switch of the equipment is a high quality rotary switch which is additionally protected with a screen thus making sure that the equipment is not turned-on accidentally. This is especially important when travelling - as the equipment may not be transported when turned-on.
Even Light Distribution
The M500 works with a flash tube in Omega shape. In comparison with the U-shaped tube, it gives a much better light and an extremely even light distribution. The flash tube has a plug-in connection and can be changed by the user. The flash release can be executed via the sync cable, foto cell, IR-flash or remote control. The sync voltage is 5 V. Therefore, safe operation with all modern cameras is guaranteed. Additionally when the FC (flash check) function is turned-on, then the modelling light is turned-off after the flashes and gets turned-on again automatically after the capacitors are completely charged. Therefore the flash control is made easy even in a darkened studio.
Different Flash Modes
The MB500 is equipped with 3 flash options: Xenon flash, LED flash, a combination of Xenon and LED flash. The normal Xenon flash light can be adjusted via 5 stops between factor 10 and 5 in 1/10 increments. The LED array can be used as a modelling light as well as a flash light. The flash light has an extreme short flash duration of approx. 1/15.000 seconds. In the combination mode, the Xenon flash is activated first and after a choosable time lag, the LED flash is activated. The strength of the Xenon flash as well as the strength of the LED flash are adjustable. Additionally you can choose the time lag between flashes. These options give the photographer more margin for creativeness and unconventional solutions.
Highest Capacity with short Charging Times
The MB500 is charged via a threaded jack on the underside of the equipment. Charging of the battery to 80% capacity happens in approx. 2,5 hours. The threaded jack prevents the connector from falling out.
The MB500 has a charging time of less than 3 seconds at full capacity. It can fire 5 flashes per second with 37 W each - exceptional values for battery devices. The battery can activate 400 flashes at full capacity and 6400 flashes with lowest capacity. When reducing the capacity the surplus flash enery gets internally turned down (APD).
